Makarova breaks down Wozniacki to reach the third round of the Wimbledon
Ekaterina Makarova advanced to the third round of the third Grand Slam tournament of the season held on London grass courts.
The native of Moscow defeated Danish Caroline Wozniacki seeded No. 2 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.
The match lasted 2 hours and 9 minutes. Makarova hit 7 aces, made 2 double faults and won 4 break points out of 13. Wozniacki hit 4 aces, made 3 double faults and won 5 break points out of 6.
In order to reach the forth round, Makarova will have to take on Lucie Safarova who defeted Polish Agnieszka Radwanska (32).
