Ekaterina Makarova commented on her victory over Ya-Hsuan Lee of Chinese Taipei in the first rubber of the first tie of the FedCup World Group II
“It was a tough match because my opponent was very young and had nothing to lose. She demonstrated great active tennis. In the first set, I took the initiative at once and managed to win it. In the second set, I managed to break to lead 1:0 with advantage on my serve. But then I made the worst double fault ever. I have no idea where it came from. Afterwards, I got a bit nervous, stopped playing actively, let her be more active – and she got in the zone. Although, I had some chances to win the match in the end of the set, I failed to take them. And then, in the third set, I just got angry. I thought that it was my home stadium and everything was to be well there and I started playing active again. I’m really happy that I got to win today”, Makarova is quoted by Daniil Salnikov, the reporter of the Championat portal.
